5 Tips to Speed up Your Computer

We are getting dependent to our computer day by day. There is no scope to pass a day without sitting in the front of computer. Lots of job huh…! Social networking, entertainment, blogging and so on. Sometimes our beloved computer makes us annoyed with its poor speed than as usual. Though your PC is latest but its performance is decreasing day by day? Don’t worry, it’s not getting poor. Just follow my tips and keep your PC good going.

I’m sharing five tips that I implemented and got good result. Hope it will be helpful to you too. I’m using Windows 7 Ultimate.

1. Remove Spywares and Viruses: Viruses can make your PC slower even unusable. Use any good anti-virus program to remove any spyware or viruses from your computer.

2. Disk Cleanup: With the running of computer, lots of junk file are stored in system drive. As a result the pc speed decreases day by day. You can clean up your system drive as this.

  • Open Computer.
  • Click right button on C: drive and click Properties.
  • Click Disk Cleanup (It will take some times to calculate the files to be deleted).
  • Tick the boxes that Files you want to delete.
  • Click Ok.
  • A confirmation dialogue will appear. Click Delete Files.

Your system drive will be cleaned up. You can use the nice Freeware CCleaner. This tools is easy to use and user friendly.

3. Disk Defragmentation: Disk defragmentation increases the disk performance as well as system performance. Follow the followings to defragment your disks.

  • Open Computer.
  • Click right button on any one of the drives and click properties.
  • Click Tools tab.
  • Click Defragment now.
  • Choose the drive you want to defragment.
  • Click Analyze disk to analyze the amount of fragmented files or click Defragment disk to defragment directly.

It will take several minute to defragment. Defragment other drives in this way.You can use another nice tool Defraggler to defragment the disks easily.

4. Tree: Tree command will map the system files. It refreshes the RAM and helps to speed up the PC.

To execute the command:

  • Press Windows button + R to open Run.
  • Type tree
  • Press Enter.

Repeat this task for 3-4 times.

5. Remove or Disable rarely used program from Start up: Some programs starts with the start up of windows. Those program uses system memory and CPU capacity. This may reduce the system performance. Disable the auto start up options from the programs like IMs, Media players and other programs.
